Mango Agar Agar

Make some mango agar agar above (only 1 layer of mango agar agar)

Two layers, top layer is mango agar agar while the lower layer is plain agar agar

two layers - top mango agar agar , bottom is plain agar, actually they are round shape and I just stack one on top of the other hahaha means three agar agar with double layers in one stack so the above photos got nine agar agar - should buy some nice decorative toothpicks and poke in the centre of each stack.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Trying to make some nice agar agar but too impatient hahaha.

First suppose to make some heart shaped, star shaped, rose shaped small agar agar with coconut milk but forgot to add coconut milk so they dont stand up brightly in the agar agar...argggg.

Second too impatient, pour first layer of plain agar agar into mould and let it set but before they are fully set, i tried to scratch the surface of the first layer so that second layer of agar agar can stick to the first layer but the agar agar fluid run out of the not fully set agar agar...sigh. So go ahead add the rose, heart, etc small agar agar onto the first layer of agar agar and pour the rest of the plain agar agar into the mould.

The top of the agar agar shows pieces of agar agar - not pretty sight. Will try again but need a lot of patience hahaha.

Baked Herbal Chicken with Seah's Emperor Herbs Chicken Spices

From the instructions behind the Seah's Emperor Herbs Chicken Spices, we need to steam for about two and half hours. I decided to bake instead of steam.

Inside the packet is an aluminium foil piece and a plastic sheet. For steaming you can wrapped the chicken with both the aluminium and plastic sheet. But for baking, you need to remove the plastic sheet as the high temperature in the oven might melt the plastic.

I used three chicken thighs (can use up to four thighs) instead of one whole chicken and rubbed with the spices found in the packet. I throw in some mushroom and wolfberries. I then added about 3/4 cup of hot water into it. More water if you want more gravy and less water if you prefer lesser gravy. For steaming, you dont need to add any water into the chicken as all the steaming will produce the gravy automatically.

Finished product after baking at 200 degrees celsius and slightly more than one hour. But need to turn the chicken thighs every 20 minutes or so for even baking and I poke some holes into the thighs with a fork.

This was a half chicken bake same way as the above on another occasion, can use a whole chicken for the whole packet of spices. For half chicken can use half packet. I almost forgot to remove the plastic sheet when baking hahaha (see the above photo). Manage to remove the plastic sheet just before baking.

After rubbing spices onto the half chicken, I added some water to it. I forgot to take the finished product.

Sorry for the ugly look of the chicken cause my son had taken some meat from the chicken before I take photo of the finished product hahaha.

Braised prime ribs

Tofu with mushroom

This is so yummy and easy on the stomach.

Marinated some minced pork with dark soya sauce, sesame oil, light soya sauce and corn flour.

Stir fry minced garlic, add in mushroom and minced pork , oyster sauce , sugar to taste and add some water. When cooked, add cubed tofu and cornflour solution. Garnish with chopped spring onion or red chilli.

Baked soya sauce chicken

Instead of stir frying soya sauce chicken, I baked them. No need to use oil and no oily kitchen floor.

Just marinate some chicken parts with sesame oil, oyster sauce, sugar, minced garlic and ginger and baked them at 200 degrees for about 40 mins or so, but turned them every 20 mins or so.

My oven is so useful.
